I didn't intend to make a video of the event. I brought Anh's Lumix GF1 to take photos because his Micro 4/3 takes good photos in low lighting. Turns out Paul Vu of PaulVu Photography brought his equipment, so I used Anh's camera to take 720p footage of the Cut&Paste event to put together a quick video to remember the night. Here is the video with the limited data I have! ENJOY.
Last night was awesome! Thanks Cut&Paste for putting on such a good show. This was our first time attending a C&P event. The last few times C&P was in town, we never got to come and spectate. It took an invitation for Anh Nguyen to come and compete for the whole team to come witness AN AMAZING EVENT. Don't sleep on this event; its wildly fun, and if you haven't been before, the next design battle will be in LA (TBD) and London on April 26th.
Check out the Cut&Paste website for more info : www.cutandpaste.com
Last night, Anh Nguyen competed in the 3D Design battle. The design challenge was to design an alternative form of transportation in 20 minutes, which includes modeling, rendering and any post-production graphics. At the end of the 20 minutes, he needed to have two final renderings of your design. It should visually communicate that it's an alternative vehicle on its own.
It was definitely a nerve wrecking battle, considering the amount of talented people under one roof. We all felt nervous as spectators imagining how Anh felt in the hot seat. In the end, Anh took 1st place with the design of the MAGIC CARPET.
Now He's moving onto the semifinals in NEW YORK, with the date still to be determined. Mini roadtrip!
Anh T Nguyen of Creative Session has been asked to participate in the 2012 San Francisco Cut & Paste Design Show. Come hang out with us, check out other designers and watch live freestyle design battles! Dance, Drink and Go wild. For more info check out. CUT & PASTE

The oldest living Industrial Designer- Eva Zeisel passed away the eve of 2012 but has left behind a legacy. She's inspiring the least to say.

So nearly a month from today I flew to Portland Oregon to see family and to attend the 2nd Annual NW SNEAKER EXPO at the Roseland Theater. We were invited to sell some CS gear and to shoot a feature video. A day ago I finally finished editing the feature and wrote a recap - summarizing our experience. Here is the video I made-- I'm literally done filming and editing for at least a month! HA!
Bro and I went sneaker shopping this weekend. Its too bad we didn't get a hold of those "CHI Jordan X" Wanted them so bad. So Sad. If anyone knows how I can still get a hold of a pair let me know. Anyway, the benefit of hooking folks up with our sticker is that it's refreshing to randomly spot it on the streets. Someone that knows about CS was here once. THANKS ANONYMOUS STICKER, STICKER.
Ever since we"ve been toying with the idea of making custom leather patches to place on the back of our sweaters. We have gone a bit mad in designing new variations for upcoming beanies and hats that are yet to come.
I am really drawn to the last version with the bear integrated into the slots online cross. Something about that bridges the space for me. Our fans all voted for option 2.
Met TJ at the NW Sneaker Expo. He has some pretty awesome mixes. $25 MAG by BEATROX RECORDS
Ever since Hova & Yeezy's "Watch The Throne" Album has been released I've been hearing a little too much of watching your throne this, watch your throne that. This is an homage to the departure of the symbol of highness and keeping us grounded. We wanted to capture the idea that the throne is a temporary seat. Its a piece of furniture something you own and could discard at a certain point in your life. Now I do not want to disregard the emotions and the psychological attachment a throne has to a kings, queen or a kingdom in history but we can only fight one battle and I choose to stand firmly that its merely just a seat. Sneak peek:
we are also bringing back the "I CS SF" in this HEART OF GOLD version:
"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better man." – Benjamin Franklin
This new year we are resetting our selves and going back to one. With our group reflection the team and I agreed last year we kinda worked like a shot gun blast. We scattered and accepted projects coming from all different angles. Now this is good to be busy and keep staying working, but the downside of this way of working is that we are not picking and choosing the right projects to move us forward. We"re acting like a kid in a candy store and fascinated by it all. This video is attributed to us being constantly reminded about positioning us with the right projects. This year is CS mature year.
Last year I spent some time painting koi's and whales tangled in oceanic waves the color of green grassy fields, the paintings now hang at home and have had many compliments throughout the year. I paint as a way to relax and in no way a pro at it. Brea had found this video and thought about me, thanks for sharing.
The amount of dedication, detail and time involved for this is overwhelmingly impressive!
